Europlan maintains leadership in the leasing market for the first 9 months of 2021

The Expert RA rating agency has published a study of the leasing market for the 9 months of 2021. The highest growth (+64%) during this period was demonstrated by the car leasing segment.

The Europlan company retained its leadership:

• in Russian car leasing (the aggregate volume of new business the passenger car segment and the truck segment);
• by passenger car and truck portfolio volume;
• by the number of transactions made;
• among leasing companies in the Central and Volga Federal Districts in general.

For the first 9 months of 2021, Europlan showed significant progress compared to the same period of 2020: it procured and leased cars and other vehicles for Russian businesspeople for a total amount of RUB 127.5 billion rubles (including VAT), or +87.5% compared to the same period of last year.

"Under the current challenging conditions in the car market, we continue to actively finance vehicle leasing. Our efforts resulted in this year's increase in loans, portfolio and revenue by dozens of percent, which is quite rate for the financial sector. What is helping us today our experience in an unstable market, our well-built cooperation with clients and suppliers through all existing sales channels in our market, and our large branch network in different regions," says Alexander Mikhailov, CEO of Europlan.

The SFI investment holding owns 100% of the leasing company.

As Expert RA notes, the total volume of new business for 9 months of 2021 amounted to RUB 1.5 trillion, which is 53% more than during the same period last year, according to a survey of leasing companies. The car leasing segment grew the most (+64%), due to the high demand from small and medium-sized businesses against the background of car shortage and rise in car cost.
